Niki was my first obedience dog, who was trained up to the AKC Open level, registered as a Therapy Dog, and my constant companion. We lost him at age 10 to cancer.

After working many years, first as a software developer, and then as a licensed middle school teacher, I started Niki's Pet Care so that I could set my own work hours, work with animals, and spend more time outdoors away from a computer.

I have always loved being around animals, and have raised and trained dogs in obedience, agility, backpacking, and therapy dog certification. I volunteer at the local animal shelter and am an active member of an obedience club. While my favorite breed is the Alaskan Malamute, I currently live with a 15-year-old rescue dog named Benny, a 3-year-old German Shepherd named Orion, a 1.5-year-old cat named Velcro, and a 6-mon-old kitten named Smudge.
